This Privacy Policy explains how CloudMobile ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects your information when you use Budget Application ("the App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.
By using Budget Application, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the App.
1. Information We Collect
We collect several types of information to provide and improve our services:
1.1 Account Information
When you create an account or sign in to Budget Application, we collect:
- Email address - Used for account creation, login, password recovery, and important notifications
- Password - Securely hashed and stored (we never store passwords in plain text)
- Display name - If you choose to provide it
- Profile photo - If you upload one or use one from Google Sign-In
1.2 Google Sign-In Information
If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive:
- Your Google account email address
- Your name and profile picture (if you grant permission)
- Google user ID (for authentication purposes)
We use this information solely for authentication and account creation. We do not access your Google contacts, emails, or other Google services.
1.3 Financial Data You Enter
To provide budgeting and expense tracking features, we store the financial information you manually enter into the App:
- Budget categories and amounts
- Income and expense transactions
- Account names and balances (e.g., "Checking Account," "Savings")
- Payment methods and categories
- Financial goals and targets
- Notes and descriptions you add to transactions
- Recurring transactions and bills
- Custom categories and tags
Important: We do NOT collect, store, or have access to your actual bank account credentials, credit card numbers, banking passwords, or any sensitive financial authentication information. All financial data is manually entered by you.
1.4 Device and Usage Information
We automatically collect certain technical information:
- Device type, model, and manufacturer
- Operating system version (Android version)
- App version you're using
- Device identifiers (such as Android ID or Firebase Instance ID)
- Screen resolution and device language settings
- IP address (for security and regional features)
- App usage statistics (features used, screens viewed, session duration)
- Time zone and general location (country/region, not precise GPS)
1.5 Subscription and Payment Information
When you purchase a subscription, we collect:
- Subscription type (monthly, yearly, or lifetime)
- Purchase date and renewal dates
- Transaction ID from Google Play Store
- Subscription status (active, expired, cancelled)
Note: Payment processing is handled entirely by Google Play Store. We do not collect or store your credit card information, billing address, or payment credentials.
1.6 Advertising Information (Free Users Only)
If you use the free version of Budget Application with ads, Google AdMob may collect:
- Advertising ID (for personalized ads)
- Device information and IP address
- Ad interaction data (views, clicks)
- General location (for regional ad targeting)
Premium subscribers do not see ads and this data is not collected for them.
1.7 Crash Reports and Diagnostics
To improve app stability, we collect crash and error reports through Firebase Crashlytics:
- Crash logs and stack traces
- Device state at the time of crash
- App version and device information
- Time and frequency of crashes
This information is anonymized and used solely for debugging and improving app performance.
1.8 Analytics Data
We use Firebase Analytics to understand how users interact with the App:
- Which features are most used
- User flow through the app
- Time spent in different sections
- App performance metrics
This data is collected in aggregate form and helps us improve the user experience.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
2.1 To Provide and Maintain the Service
- Create and manage your account
- Authenticate your login
- Store and sync your budgets, transactions, and financial data
- Provide core budgeting and expense tracking features
- Enable cloud backup and multi-device synchronization
2.2 To Process Subscriptions
- Manage your free trial period
- Process subscription purchases and renewals
- Provide premium features to subscribers
- Send subscription-related notifications
2.3 To Display Advertisements (Free Users Only)
- Show banner ads throughout the app
- Display video ads when adding transactions
- Personalize ads based on your interests (via AdMob)
Premium subscribers receive a completely ad-free experience.
2.4 To Improve and Optimize the App
- Analyze how features are used
- Identify and fix bugs and crashes
- Improve app performance and user experience
- Develop new features based on usage patterns
- Test new features with user groups
2.5 To Communicate With You
- Send important service announcements
- Respond to your support requests
- Send subscription renewal reminders
- Notify you of new features or updates (with your consent)
- Send security alerts if needed
2.6 To Ensure Security and Prevent Fraud
- Detect and prevent unauthorized access
- Monitor for suspicious activity
- Protect against fraud and abuse

3. How We Store Your Information
3.1 Local Storage
Your financial data is stored locally on your device in an encrypted SQLite database. This allows you to:
- Access your budgets offline
- Enjoy fast app performance
- Maintain full control over your data
Local data remains on your device until you delete the app or clear app data.
3.2 Cloud Storage (Firebase)
For registered users, we also store data in Firebase Cloud Firestore to enable:
- Automatic backup of your financial data
- Synchronization across multiple devices
- Account recovery if you lose your device
- Seamless switching between devices
Cloud data is stored on secure Google Firebase servers, which may be located in various countries worldwide.
3.3 Data Security Measures
We implement industry-standard security measures:
- Encryption in transit: All data transmitted between your device and our servers uses SSL/TLS encryption
- Encryption at rest: Data stored in Firebase is encrypted
- Secure authentication: Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms
- Access controls: Strict access controls limit who can access user data
- Regular security audits: We regularly review and update security measures
Important: While we implement strong security measures, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and you use the App at your own risk.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do NOT sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

4.3 Business Transfers
If CloudMobile is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
5. Third-Party Services and Links

Budget Application integrates with Google services that have their own privacy policies:

Free users: Ads displayed through AdMob may use cookies and similar technologies to provide personalized advertising. You can opt out of personalized ads in your device settings (Google Ad Settings).
Premium subscribers: No ads are displayed, and AdMob does not collect advertising data from premium users.
6. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide our services:
- Active accounts: Data is retained while your account is active
- Deleted accounts: When you delete your account, your data is permanently deleted within 90 days
- Local data: Remains on your device until you uninstall the app or clear app data
- Backup data: Cloud backups are deleted when you delete your account
- Analytics and logs: Anonymized analytics data may be retained longer for statistical purposes
- Legal requirements: Some data may be retained longer if required by law
7. Your Rights and Choices
You have the following rights regarding your personal information:
7.1 Access Your Data
You can access all your financial data directly within the App. You can also request a copy of your data by contacting us at support@cloudmobile.co.za.
7.2 Correct Your Data
You can edit or update your account information, budgets, transactions, and other data directly in the App at any time.
7.3 Delete Your Data
You can:
- Delete individual transactions, budgets, or categories within the App
- Delete your entire account from Settings → Account → Delete Account
- Request account deletion by contacting support@cloudmobile.co.za
When you delete your account, all your data (including cloud backups) will be permanently deleted within 90 days.
7.4 Export Your Data
You can export your financial data in CSV or PDF format from the App's Reports section.
7.5 Opt Out of Personalized Ads
Free users can opt out of personalized advertising by:
- Going to Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization
- Upgrading to a premium subscription for an ad-free experience
7.6 Manage Communications
You can control email notifications in the App's Settings. However, we may still send essential service-related emails (e.g., security alerts, subscription confirmations).
7.7 Regional Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you may have additional rights:

8. Children's Privacy
Budget Application is intended for general audiences and does not have specific age restrictions. However, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age without parental consent.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@cloudmobile.co.za, and we will delete that information.
9. International Data Transfers
Budget Application is available worldwide. Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence, including South Africa and countries where Google operates Firebase servers.
These countries may have different data protection laws than your country. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your information to these countries. We ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors.
When we make changes:
- We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
- Significant changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification
- Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance
